AILET 2024: Registration Closes Today

AILET is a national-level entrance test conducted by NLU Delhi for admission to its undergraduate law program (BA LLB). The exam is conducted in English and covers a wide range of topics, including legal aptitude, general knowledge, and current affairs.

Candidates who have not yet applied for AILET 2024 are advised to apply online through the official website of NLU Delhi at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. The application fee is ₹3,500 for general category candidates and ₹2,000 for reserved category candidates.

The extended application deadline for the All India Law Entrance Test or AILET 2024 will be closed today, November 15.

Eligibility Criteria for AILET

To be eligible for AILET, you must have:

  • Passed the Class 12 examination with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates)
  • A valid law degree from a recognized university
  • A minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying law degree examination
  • A valid NCT of Delhi domicile certificate (only for candidates seeking admission under the Delhi domicile quota)

Total Seats

There are a total of 204 seats available for admission to the National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) through the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2024. This includes 123 seats for the BA LLB (Hons.) program and 81 seats for the LLM program.

Breakdown of seats for BA LLB (Hons.) program:

  • General category: 50 seats
  • Other Backward Classes (OBCs): 24 seats
  • Scheduled Castes (SC): 17 seats
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): 8 seats
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 11 seats
  • Supernumerary: Kashmiri Migrants: 1 seat
  • Supernumerary: Residents of Jammu & Kashmir: 2 seats
  • Foreign Nationals (5 seats) & OCI/PIO (5 seats): 10 seats

Breakdown of seats for LLM program:

  • General category: 32 seats
  • Other Backward Classes (OBCs): 15 seats
  • Scheduled Castes (SC): 11 seats
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): 5 seats
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 7 seats
  • Supernumerary: Kashmiri Migrants: 1 seat
  • Foreign Nationals (5 seats) & OCI/PIO (5 seats): 10 seat

The application fee of AILET 2024 is 3,500. For SC, ST, PwD, it is 1,500. There is no fee for BPL applicants of SC, ST categories.

Meanwhile, registrations for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2023, the national-level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 22 other NLUS, has ended.

CLAT 2024 will take place on December 3.
